In the past twenty-one years, the LVSC has been host to over twenty three national and international sporting events that have showcased the greatest athletes in the world.Over 32,000 athletes, 19,000 coaches and 136,000 supporters representing Nevada, the United States and 35 countries have pursued their life long dreams in Las Vegas.

Since 1986 the LVSC has hosted the United States National Wrestling Championships, an Olympic wrestling trials qualifying tournament in Las Vegas. Over ninety-three athletes that qualified through that tournament went on to represent the USA at three Olympic games, winning a total of fifteen medals.

The LVSC was honored in 1996, when founder and CEO, Larry Barnson, was selected as part of the administrative staff for the summer Olympic games in Atlanta, Georgia, and again in 2003 for the FILA World Championships.

Founded in 1986 by native Las Vegan, UNLV graduate, local educator and coach, Larry Barnson, the LVSC has not only showcased world class athletic achievements, but has also given back to the community.

 The LVSC has hosted multiple sporting events from Gymnastics, Taekwondo and Basketball / Football camps for youth ages 10-15.

Proceeds totaling $548,000 from events hosted by the LVSC have contributed to over thirty local athletic programs, impacting over 4,500 local athletes and their families.

How We Began

The LVSC was originally founded in 1986 by Larry Barnson and featured the U.S. National Wrestling Championships that year. Larry is a native Nevadan that grew up participating in local youth sport programs and went on to become a coach for 20 years in the Clark County School District.
